Talora Species:

Alder

  • Clear: Pin knots are allowed in the grade. Alder is not as hard as a Maple but the superior grade provides a beautiful smooth grain on both sides. The color is white and consistent through the board.
  • Knotty: This allows mineral streak in the grade as well as open knots
  • Relatively soft hardwood of medium density

White Rift Cut Oak

  • This is a very consistent color. What makes rift is the way you cut the log . This is not conventional cutting – cut the log into 4 pieces this will produce rift. The fiber is also consistent due to the size of the log. When you cut for rift you are getting the best region of the log for color and fiber this is why the log yield is low but the quality is very high.
